What memories The DONUT MAN stayed at our home while visiting our church. Naomi SUrwillo said this on Novemat 8:29 pm | Reply Glad to see many other folks remember & enjoyed those collections. Could not remember the name so I had to search it out. Well tonite on the radio, an instrumental version of “Make Me a Servant” came on & my thoughts immediately retuned to that Psalty Album from many years ago. They are now 33, 30 & 28 respectively & I had all but forgotten about Psalty. Our kids grew up on Psalty & Charity the church mouse. So…all of these memories are FLOODING back to me! I LOVES Psalty and the Donut Man…anybody remember him? Oh man how far we’ve come. WorshipCity said this on Septemat 8:20 pm | Reply I thought I had actually deleted those memories but they’re all flooding back to me now! NO NO NOOOOOOO! Wow, our church used to do “Music Day Camp” with Psalty and gang instead of “Vacation Bible School!” This is too much. Oh…my…GOD…I thought I’d never see that again! HA. It definitely was a good way to memorize scripture.Ĭheri said this on Septemat 10:07 am | Reply Today, my teenagers (and I) will still begin singing his version of a Bible verse EVERY time one is referenced. There were times I was so tired of listening that I wanted to throw it out the car window. However, the cassette tape my kids listened to over and over again was Steve Green – Hide ‘Em In Your Heart. Psalty was heading out when my kids were little and quickly replaced with Veggie Tales sing-a-long and Mary Rice Hopkins. TESTIFY!!!!Ģ6 Responses to “Psalty The Singing Songbook” it’s time for me to make some CD’s and get myself and my kids rockin’ a giant blue singing songbook. Then they look at me and tell me that they still have a bunch of the tapes at home and they still listen to them. ![]() So I tell them that I wish I had some of those tapes so I can introduce my kids to them and all the heavenly goodness that is Psalty the Singing SongBook. We started talking about how much we loved Psalty and all those old tapes and songs and all that good stuff. So classic, this guy and the music he brought of his bright red tapes helped define me and who I am today.Īnyway, So the other day I was talking to some people in the young adult group here at church and for some reason the topic of Psalty the singing songbook came up in our conversation (If you don’t still don’t know who Psalty is then you need to go over here to Wikipedia and read this article on him). One of their creations was a big blue singing songbook who had a dog, a family, and not to mention a worship workshop. I, probably like a nice big chunk of you, grew up in the golden era of the Christian musical days when Maranatha Music ruled. ![]() PSALTY, COLBY, CHARITY CHURCH MOUSE!!! Those are the names I grew up with as a kid.
